A night owl with a busy mind, terrible sleep hygiene, obsessive tendencies, a short attention span and poor impulse control.
Exhibit A: This blog is not to be confused with theramblingraccoon.com – a hiking, travel and lifestyle blog.
Which I would’ve known had I spent one extra minute Googling before paying.
I didn’t. So here we are.
(Hey there to all you lost raccoons looking for hiking trails in Utah.)
Why raccoons?
Firstly and most obviously, why not.
Secondly, my group chat with my best friends – one of my most valued daily rituals – is named A Smack of Raccoons. That’s right, a smack is a collective noun for raccoons.
Raccoons are also nocturnal, omnivorous and communicate with purrs, growls and screams. All hard relates.
I’m in recovery from US politics, on a journey to understand my mental health and having a go at making sense of the world around us.
My career has been in media for large organisations with strict writing style rules. Here’s my nest where I can do what I want and break all the rules. Watch me dangle modifiers; abuse semicolons, leave verbs unconjugated and brazenly start – and end – sentences with but.
Join me as I attempt to exorcise my inner monologue and quell the quandaries of this existence of ours.
Or don’t, that’s fine, we can still be friends.
